THE BRIEF

The brief from Pioneer Expeditions was twofold. Firstly, it was to visit Madagascar on one of their fixed date departures in order to set up a photography workshop holiday. Secondly, it was to return with a set of images that could be used to advertise both the photography trip, and Pioneer Expeditions other adventures in Madagascar.

OUR THOUGHTS

Creating a set of photographs of beautiful photographs of Madagascar is about as easy as it gets. There are endless stunning subjects to photograph, with each subject providing new photographic challenges. One moment we were taking portraits of some of the friendly locals and listening to their stories, then the next, we were on the rainforest floor just meters away from Ring-tailed Lemurs. The stunning scenery continued to offer exciting landscape photography opportunities, as we explored the rice paddies, spiny forest scenery, and beaches in the south.

At the same time we scouted out some fantastic spots to teach various different travel photography techniques, and altered the itinerary to suit a two week photography workshop holiday, the first of which is running in October 2018.
